Importance of questionnaire design - assisted dying and euthansia

I have just taken part in a survey about assisted dying being conducted by HM Government. Sad to report that on such an important topic, they have prepared one of the most amateurish questionnaires I have seen in a long time. The questions are confusing and misleading. There is no attempt to learn information (such as age or state of health) about the respondents, which I would have thought reasonably important in such a study. It shows the importance of preparing questionnaires thoughtfully and carefully. Unfortunately, if this survey is used to determine policy as part of a public consultation, it will be be at best useless and at worst misleading, leading to the wrong conclusions being drawn. Peter
